We continue our journey through poetic Heidelberg — Literaturstadt Heidelberg.
Today, we invite you to meet the young Heidelberg poet Philipp Herold.
Philipp Herold (born in Heidelberg in 1991) writes and performs poetry. He is an author and performer, a two-time runner-up in the German-speaking region’s poetry slam competitions, and co-founder of the collective Verschwende deine Lyrik! (“Waste Your Poetry!”).
Over the past 15 years, he has performed his poems on stage more than 1,000 times — from the Schauspielhaus Hamburg and Volksbühne Berlin to the Staatsoper Hannover, Alte Oper Frankfurt, Theaterhaus Stuttgart, and Schauspielhaus Zürich.
In 2018, he published his book Alles zu seiner Zeit (“Everything in Its Time”), followed by the EP Von hier an (“From Here On”) in 2021. In 2022, he received the Hessian Spoken Word Prize, and in 2023 he was an artist-in-residence in the UNESCO City of Barcelona.
We invite you to listen to Philipp:
